Yesterday 14 April 2015 in the Vatican Press Room the Holy See Pavilion was presented at the Milan Expo. NOT ONLY BREAD… S. Em. Gianfranco Ravasi illustrated the Holy See Pavilion to the international press,
“… The presence of the Holy See at Expo is in the sign of the heart of Pope Francis, in a sober and minimalist way and above all it wants to have a symbolic meaning, of exception: it proposes a message, not products …”
The hunger of humanity, hunger for food but not only, and the responses of the Church to this hunger, will be the guiding thread of the exhibition. Mons.Dal Toso, president of the Pontifical Council Cor Unum, illustrated the contents of the visual installations curated by Aurora Vision,
“… With a photographic wall, the result of the work of numerous photographers from all over the world, we wanted to tell the new poverty with faces, faces and people. With three 4 ‘films that are true artistic works, we wanted to show the responses of the Church to the themes presented in the photos: gratuity, charity and fatherhood, precisely because the Church reads poverty with criteria that go beyond the simple social fact … “
In conclusion of his speech, Mons. Dal Toso thanked Lia G. Beltrami, and all the collaborators of Aurora Vision for the great effort put into the realization of the photographic and film walls of the pavilion.
