Sri Lanka, in full civil war up to 5 years ago and beaten by the tsunami, faces many types of poverty. The Salesians are committed to responding by trusting the young people. A path forward includes specialized professional training for the poorest, the rehabilitation of those who were trained as “child soldiers”, and the return to life of the children who are victims of the pedophiles of the so-called “sex tourism”.
